Jennie-O Turkey Store is not involved in the recall this week of 36 million pounds of ground turkey. Minnesota-based Cargill is the producer of the ground turkey, which has been recalled after a drug-resistant strain of salmonella, killed one person and sickened at least 76 people in 26 states. Officials say the turkey was produced at a plant in Springdale, Arkansas, and was distributed under many brands, including Honeysuckle White. Jennie-O is headquartered in Willmar. In April, the company did recall about 55,000 pounds of frozen turkey burgers linked to a dozen cases of salmonella in 10 states.
