The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating an arson fire at a home south of Dassel Friday evening. Authorities say the home was under foreclosure and was not occupied. The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded around 7:50 p.m. Friday to a report of suspicious activity and found smoke in the residence. The Dassel Fire Department was called to make sure that the fire was out. Authorities say it appears that someone broke a window into the home and attempted to set the home on fire, but the small blaze burned itself out.
Anyone with information regarding the fire is encouraged to call the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office at 320-693-5411 or the Arson Tip Line at 1-800-725-2020. A reward of up to $2,500 may be available for information leading to the identification of persons responsible for this fire.
