Stearns County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating those responsible for putting hay bales and cornstalks on roads and setting them on fire.
Deputies were called at 2 a.m. Tuesday about large hay bales blocking 155th Avenue, south of Stearns County Road 17 in Holding Township.
Sheriff John Sanner says deputies found three large round bales of hay blocking the road. They also found cornstalks covering the road.
Deputies removed the bales, but a couple hours later they received a report that the bales were back on the road and this time they were on fire. The fire was put out. At 6:30 a.m., deputies received a report of a hay bale burning on St. Anna Drive. Albany Fire Department responded and put out that fire.
Anyone with information should call the sheriff’s office at 251-4240 or Crime Stoppers at 255-1301.
