The Henderson City Council has unanimously voted to post a job opening for the city’s chief of police position.
This comes after the council rejected the lone proposal it received for law enforcement coverage for the city.
Current Henderson Police Chief Chester Aldrich is retiring at the end of September, and the only proposal to replace him came from Henderson Police Officer Eric Karels, but it did not meet the criteria established by the city council.
Applications for the Henderson Police Chief position are due by September 12th.
The pay range is between $35,000 and $50,000, and potential benefits will be negotiated.
