Local NFL’er out for season 31 Aug 11

Litchfield native John Carlson Jr. will miss the entire 2011 NFL season due to injury. Seattle Head Coach Pete Carroll announced yesterday that that his Tight End will need shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum and will miss the season. Carlson injured the shoulder in training camp and had missed the past two weeks. Carroll gave no indication when the surgery would take place or how long he’ll be officially out. This is Carlson’s final year on his rookie contract. Last season Carlson caught 31 balls for only 1 TD and was looking forward to having the same head coach for a second year in a row for the first time in his NFL career.
