Republican Representative Ron Shimanski of Silver Lake has been appointed Chairman of the Judiciary Committee and says he’s looking forward to the 2012 session.
Speaker of the House Kurt Zellers announced last week that the Judiciary Policy and Finance Committee will become a division of the Public Safety and Crime Prevention Policy and Finance Committee.
Zellers says, ”This revised committee structure parallels the Judiciary and Public Safety Division in the Minnesota Senate, allowing for a more efficient and streamlined process. Representative Ron Shimanski, current vice chair of the Judiciary Policy and Finance, will serve as the Division Chair.”
Representative Shimanski added, “I am honored to be appointed by Speaker Zellers as the Division Chair for the Judiciary Policy and Finance Committee.
Rep. Shimanski is serving his 3rd term in the Minnesota House and previously served as the vice-chair of the Crime Victims and Criminal Records division of Public Safety in the 2009 – 2010 Legislative Session.
