A nearby domestic situation caused the lock down of the Rockford Middle School yesterday morning (Monday) as a precautionary measure.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the 6100 block of Boulder Ridge Dr in the City of Rockford shortly after 8am. A suspect was believed to be inside the home at that location. The 34-year-old suspect was arrested at the residence at just after 1pm for 2nd degree assault and terroristic threats.
Due to the close proximity of the Rockford Middle School, the decision was made to lock down the school until the conclusion of the incident. Officials say the lock down was done as a precautionary measure, in that there had been no threat made against any occupants of the school. The incident remains under investigation.
