McLeod County Auditor-Treasurer, Cindy Schultz, is reminding McLeod County residents that the second half property tax payments are due October 15th for non-agricultural properties.
Schultz says with October 15th falling on Saturday, taxes will be accepted Monday, October 17th, without penalty.
Payments are accepted by mail, in person at the McLeod County North Complex building 2391 Hennepin Ave. N. from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or there is a convenient PAYMENT DROP BOX located just outside of the building.
If you are interested in paying by credit card or e-check, visit the County website: www.co.mcleod.mn.us. There is a fee involved for paying your property tax by this method.
If mailing, please return your statement stub with your payment to insure proper credit. Postmark determines mail payment date. Late postmarks will be returned for proper penalty. Minnesota Statutes direct a penalty be assessed on late payments.
