A 35-year-old Atwater woman made her first court appearance Tuesday on two felony drug charges for allegedly giving marijuana and methamphetamine to two teenagers and using the drugs with the teens at her home.
The West Central Tribune reports Lynae Marie Whitmore also faces a gross misdemeanor charge of child endangerment in Kandiyohi County District Court. Unconditional bail was set at $30,000 with conditional release on her personal recognizance. Her next appearance is December 6th.
According to the complaint, the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office began investigating after receiving family services reports regarding maltreatment of children. The children told investigators that they are not living at Whitmore’s residence any more.
A 6-year-old told investigators that Whitmore, a man and a 14-year-old had smoked “weed” in front of her with a pipe and that she had observed the 14-year-old sniffing “white stuff that kills you” at Whitmore’s home.
The 14-year-old told investigators that she and Whitmore had smoked marijuana together, both before and after school, on a daily basis beginning in December or January. She also said that Whitmore crushed meth on a mirror and formed lines for the teen to snort.
