The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Forestry Division has issued burning restrictions effective immediately that include McLeod County due to the dry conditions and lack of significant rainfall during the past several weeks. Recreational fires are still allowed as long as they have a 10’ clearance around them.
There will be no new burning permits issued until the burning restrictions are lifted. Any permits that were previously issued are considered void until the restrictions are lifted. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office will be enforcing statues and regulations for those people who violate the burning statutes or regulations. These restrictions will be in place until conditions improve significantly. The public will be advised when the burning restriction is lifted.
