A New Ulm woman was killed in a crash on Highway 99 just east of Nicollet Sunday afternoon.

71-year-old Irene Schultz died at the scene.

Authorities say Schultz crossed the centerline and was hit head-on by an eastbound semi-tractor trailer just after 4:30.

The driver of the semi, 49-year-old Daryle Hansen of St. Paul, was not injured.
