Hutchinson native Kelly Brinkman has qualified for the US Olympic Time Trials in the Marathon. Brinkman ran a time of 2 hours 45 minutes and 15 seconds at the California International Marathon. The US Time Trials are January 14th in Houston, Texas. The current top qualifying time is 23 minutes faster than Brinkman’s. Desiree Davila of Michigan holds the top time of 2 hours, 22 minutes, and 38 seconds. Kara Goucher of Duluth is currently qualified 2nd. The top finishers from the Time Trials advance to the Olympic games in London next year.
