Minnesota Vikings: Player Watch – Friday 16 Dec 11

RB Adrian Peterson was a limited participant in practice for the second straight day and said he was about “85 percent.” He plans to play Sunday against the Saints. Peterson has missed the last three games with a high ankle sprain.

FS Jarrad Page, who has a hip injury, was limited in practice. With the secondary as depleted as it is, Page is a valuable veteran backup, even though he was out of football three weeks ago. Page became the fourth player to see time at free safety when he replaced rookie Mistral Raymond last week. Raymond left the game with leg cramps.

WR Greg Camarillo passed the league-mandated third-party concussion exam and returned to practice on a limited basis on Thursday. Camarillo, who complained of concussion-related symptoms earlier this week, said he thinks he suffered the injury on his first catch of the game on Sunday.

CB Asher Allen still has a lingering shoulder injury, but was able to make it through all of Thursday’s practice. He’s become a valuable part of the secondary. Or at least what’s left of the secondary. The Vikings have used four left corners this season, including Allen.

QB Christian Ponder made it through all of practice again on Thursday. He has put the hip pointer he suffered two weeks ago behind him. The injury caused him to miss two days of practice and most of the third day of practice leading up to the Lions game. It clearly affected his play and led to his third-quarter benching.

LB E.J. Henderson has reached the part of the season where he practices on a limited basis. Henderson is dealing with a shoulder injury, but isn’t concerned about missing time on Sunday. Meanwhile, the knee injury that slowed him earlier this season appears to have healed.
