Former Sibley County resident 29-year-old Amy Ann Romero has been indicted on 7 felony counts including murder in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree, 2 counts of manslaughter, neglect of a child, and child endangerment. Romero is now a resident of Missouri.
It is alleged that in 2001, Romero, then Amy Aune, gave birth to a baby girl at her residence in Jessenland Township and then caused the baby’s death by bringing it out to a wooded area about three miles northwest of Henderson.
After indictment, Romero was arrested in Missouri. She waived extradition to Minnesota.
On Thursday, she appeared for a bail hearing and was appointed an attorney. Her bail was set at $25,000 cash/$250,000 bond.
Her next court appearance is March 15th.
