A 21-year-old Gaylord woman is dead following a crash just outside of St. Peter early Sunday morning.
21-year-old Elizabeth Ann Risk of Gaylord was airlifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not said who was driving at the time.
The crash happened just before 3am just south of Highway 99 on Le Sueur County Road 45, the Rabbit Road. She was in a car that was apparently travelling northbound when the driver lost control on a curve and the vehicle went into the ditch and struck several trees. 27-year-old Jennifer Ann McCormick of Arlington was also airlifted to HCMC. Her condition has not been released.
34-year-old Coy Charles Hewitt of Fairfax was hospitalized in Mankato, and 24-year-old Katherine Meredith Rik of Kasota and 40-year-old Kerry Ann Olson of Le Center were both taken to Rivers Edge Hospital in St. Peter.
The crash remains under investigation.
