Hutchinson has $140-million invested in pavement on its roads…some are in great shape…and some are deplorable, much like any other town or city in the nation. However, on the whole, city officials say the condition of the pavement about where they want it to be.
A study was conducted that shows the pavement index is at 69, with 100 being excellent and 0 being beyond repair.
Public Works Supervisor John Olson says the city is doing everything it can with what it has.
Olson gave the city council a complete presentation on the city’s 2011 Pavement Management Report last night.
Olson says the city of Hutchinson has 90 miles of paved road, 76 miles of which the city is 100 percent responsible for.
