The New Ulm and Monticello K-Mart stores will be closing their doors for good in the coming months.
The announcement came last week that the two stores would be part of the latest round of 15 store closings across the country after the company posted a $2.4-billion net loss in profits in the 4th quarter of 2011.
The New Ulm and Monticello K-Marts are the only 2 stores in Minnesota on the latest list.
The announcement comes after 79 Sears and Kmart locations in the US were closed in December. The exact closure date of the New Ulm and Monticello stores is not known at this time, but will likely occur in the next 5 to 6 months
