McLeod County DFL Convention 06 Mar 12

The McLeod County Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL) Convention is this Sunday in Hutchinson.

The convention is being held at Ridgewater College at 12:30 Sunday afternoon (March 11th.)

Officials say the business will include considering resolutions to change the DFL Party Platform, and electing delegates to go on to the Congressional District (April 21 in Mahnomen) and State Conventions (June 2 & 3 in Rochester).

They’ll also be welcoming a host of legislative candidates.

County DFL officials say so far in state legislative races, Steve Schiroo of Cokato has said he is seeking DFL endorsement for House District 18A. Possible candidates for House District 18B include Kelly Pierson of Winthrop although he hasn’t formally announced intentions yet. Candidates seeking DFL endorsement for Senate District 18 haven’t announced yet. County DFL officials say there is speculation that Hal Kimball of Cokato may run for State District 18 to replace Republican State Senator Scott Newman of Hutchinson.

The McLeod County DFL encourages citizen participation in the process.
