Murder Suspect Refuses Extradition 13 Mar 12

A man arrested last week in St. Cloud on suspicion that he killed his wife in Fargo, N.D., refused to waive extradition Monday at a hearing in Stearns County District Court.

The St. Cloud Times reports 49-year-old Henry Deniger Sr. is charged in Cass County District Court with stabbing to death his wife in her Fargo apartment. He was scheduled to have an extradition hearing last week, but he refused to leave his cell for the hearing. The hearing was rescheduled for Monday, and Deniger refused to agree to be returned to Fargo, according to the Stearns County Attorney’s Office.

St. Cloud police arrested Deniger last Wednesday in connection with the apparent stabbing death of his 52-year-old wife, Kathye Deniger. She had not been seen for several days when her body was found March 6 by officers who were called to her Fargo apartment to check on her.

Deniger will remain in Stearns County Jail. North Dakota likely will have to begin the process to force Deniger’s return to Fargo to face murder charges.
