The Hector Police Department was involved in a multi-jurisdictional pursuit of a suspect who was armed with a knife, sought in connection of a domestic assault incident in Carver County Saturday.
Authorities say a McLeod County Deputy located the suspect vehicle which was entering eastern Renville County. The McLeod County Deputy requested Renville County assistance in stopping the suspect. An attempt was made to stop the suspect vehicle, however a pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended in northwest Sibley County, where the armed suspect exited the vehicle and displayed a knife. The armed suspect approached officers of the Buffalo Lake, Hector Police Departments and the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office and disobeyed the officers’ commands.
The suspect was ultimately subdued with the use of a Taser.
The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. The suspect was evaluated at the Renville County Hospital & Clinics and released to the custody of the Hector Police Department.
The suspect was transported to and remains at Renville County Jail pending charges.
