NYA Teen Struck by Semi 23 Mar 12

The Minnesota State Patrol says a pedestrian was killed while standing in the right lane of a road in Carver County Thursday morning.

17-year-old Andrew Mulville was wrapped in a dark-colored blanket when he was struck and killed by a semi-truck driven by 55-year-old Harold R. Schroeder of Gibbon near County Road 33 and Highway 212 in Norwood Young America at about 7 a.m, just before sunrise.

State Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske said it appears that the boy “walked into the roadway under his own will.”

The truck driver was not injured in the incident and did not see the teen, according to Roeske, and the patrol has found no witnesses to the crash.
