An Informational Meeting and discussion on the Renville-Sibley Fiber Optic project is taking place this (MON) evening at the Sibley County Courthouse in Gaylord.
The $70-million project would bring fiber optic broadband internet services to the underserved communities and rural areas of Renville and Sibley Counties.
The City of Arlington recently opted out of the project, but several other communities have already confirmed their commitment, including Winthrop and Henderson.
The Sibley County Board is scheduled to vote on the county’s involvement in Renville-Sibley Fiber on Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock in the Sibley County Courthouse Commissioners Room in Gaylord.
Tonight’s Informational Meeting begins at 7pm in the courthouse basement, and officials are encouraging the public to attend to share their thoughts on the proposed project.
