I was June and Leroy’s Dietary Manager at Grand Meadows. I spent many enjoyable times with both of them. Being from the area I knew them and some of your family years ago. We had a lot of talks at work, and she was always so appreciative of everything and always a boost to my day. I will miss her dearly.

My daughter, Sara Brown, called me Sunday evening and informed me of June’s death. Sara is the activities director at Grand Meadows. LeRoy was Mom’s cousin and Sara said who he would always roll down to visit Mom and tell her that they were the two best looking of all the cousins. By the time I pulled up obits on the internet it was too late to arrange to pick up my mother, Doloris Bartels, for the family gathering and funeral. I’m hoping Don was able to help out since he found out Sunday morning but I was unable to get him on the telephone. Did get in touch with brother Jim but he was out of town. He said he did inform Mom of your Mother’s passing and she mentioned that she will miss her. Mom’s memory has been pretty short since she suffered a few mini-strokes about ten years ago but she does know who all her relatives and friends are and can share a story to bring a smile when talking about them.
Sara shared a few kind stories about LeRoy and June and I just wanted to let you know that both were loved by the staff at Grand Meadows and will be missed.
Please accept my sympathy and prayers for your family.
    Sincerely,
    Bruce Bartels
