The rightful place for an unknown McLeod County tombstone has been located.
Authorities had put the word out to the public recently to help them try and identify the tombstone that was found in Hutchinson in 2009 at an abandoned farm site, so it could be returned to its proper place. Authorities believe the stone may have been taken by some kids.
On Monday, the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office says the child’s tombstone was given to the caretaker of the Acoma cemetery located northwest of Hutchinson.
With assistance from the McLeod County Pastor Liason, Kristi Shiroo and Pastor Paul Baker of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Hutchinson; the caretaker of the cemetery, John Rickeman, saw the information during Sunday Service and took possession of the tombstone and will now be placed back in the Cemetery.
