A Cosmos man was killed in a car crash in Renville County on Sunday.

79-year-old Lester Schultz died at the scene.

The crash happened at the intersection of County Roads 5 and 4, about 6 miles south of Bird Island.

Renville County authorities say a westbound Dodge Caravan driven by 63-year-old by Beverly Roback of New Brighton collided with Schultz, who was driving southbound.

Roback and her passenger, 88-year-old Leslie Shore of Minneapolis suffered non life-threatening injuries and were taken to the Renville County Hospital for treatment.

The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting the Renville County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.
