Officials have ruled that the death of a 19-month-old Minnetrista boy was a homicide.

Cottrell Short was hospitalized in February and died a short time later, the result of multiple abdominal and head injuries as well as multiple fractures.

Cottrell’s mother, 27-year-old Shacara Foster, has been charged with felony neglect and is currently in custody.
