Rogers Plant Hit With MPCA Penalties 11 May 12

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has penalized Flame Metals Processing Corporation for improper disposal of waste and wastewater at its processing plant in Rogers.

As part of an agreement with the MPCA, Flame Metals will pay a $10,000 penalty for the violations, and will also be required to make a $90,000 investment in a new environmental project at its facility.

The company has chosen to install equipment that will remove cyanide from its wastewater discharge, reducing the chemical’s concentrations well below required limits.
