All Area Baseball Team

Erich Streich, Mayer Lutheran, Senior, Catcher-2 year starter, hits .407 with 7 doubles, 15 RBI. Good defensively, was also the teams #3 pitcher this season.

Ed Reichenbach, Sibley East, Senior, First Base-Hit .368, 9 doubles, 2 HR, 23 RBI, .438 OBP, teams personality-keeps everyone loose, also does some pitching with a 2-1 record and a 3.87 ERA

Brendan Ashton, EVW, Senior, Catcher-3 year All Conference, Lions All Star, All State, hit .413, 18 runs scored, 21 RBI, 5 doubles, 3 triples, 1 HR. A 3 year starter, and contributor for 4 state championship teams (2 MSHSL, 2 American Legion). Going to play at Nebraska Omaha in college.

Adam Prehn, GSL, Senior, SS-All Conference, Lions All Star, hit .406, 5 doubles, 1 triple, 1 HR, 14 RBI, and a .474 OBP.

Joe Allison, Annandale, Senior, Catcher-All Conference, Team MVP, hit .368, 11 runs scored, 12 RBI, and 6 doubles. Excellent defensively with zero errors, and in the classroom (KDUZ Senior Scholar). Playing for St. Thomas next season. \

Riley Gruenhagen, HLWW, Sophomore, 1B-hits .430 with 9 runs scored, and 7 doubles. Teams best hitter, clutch hits, very good defensively. Can pitch as well—2-2 record with a 1.20 ERA.

Phil Kuball, Hutchinson, Senior, Shortstop-All conference, Lions All-Star, hit .325, 4 doubles, 16 runs scored, 16 RBI, slick fielder with a good arm. One of the top defensive SS’s in school history, and a good team leader.

Reid Nelson, Dassel Cokato, Junior, Catcher- hit .382 with 8 doubles, .582 slugging percentage. Leader of the team, very good defensively and a great arm behind the plate. Handles pitchers well, always works hard behind the plate.


Samuel Scoblic, LP/HT, Senior-Teams leadoff hitter, hit .311, .462 OBP, All Conference, Team MVP, Captain, good leader on and off the field, zero errors all season.

Jordan Jeseritz, HLWW, Junior-Offensive MVP of the team, All Conference, hit .303, .432 OBP, 9 runs scored, 2 doubles, 3 HR, 19 RBI. Good accurate arm in the outfield, teams most intense player.

Mitchell Peterson, Hutchinson, Junior-All Conference, hit .416, 6 doubles, 1 HR, 18 RBI, 20 stolen bases (3rd in school history), 18 walks, and a .536 OBP. Good Defensively with good speed and range, has a good accurate arm as well.

Zach Miner, Hutchinson, Senior-All Conference, hit .310, 10 runs scored, 3 doubles, 6 RBI, good competitor, .963 defensive percentage. Also pitched a number of innings going 3-2 with a 2.35 ERA and 1 shutout.


Tim Willems, NYA, Senior-4-1 record, 1.96 ERA, Opponents BA .187, 35 K’s, 17 walks, All Conference selection, hits .385 at the plate with 10 RBI. Hard Worker, that tore his ACL in football season and came back to throw well here.

Tim Swanson, NYA, Senior- 5-1 record, 0.69 ERA, Opponents BA .206, 27 K’s, 11 Walks, hit .255 at the plate, A good “pitcher”…not outstanding stuff but smart player to get hitters out.

Brody Rodning, Sibley East, Sophomore-All Conference, 4-2 record, 0.86 ERA, 56 K’s, threw 2 no-hitters this season, Good Confident pitcher.

Ben Maiers, BLHS, Senior-A 4-1 record with a 2.03 ERA, 34 K’s to 8 walks. Natural athlete, instinctive player. Hits .493 at the plat with 5 doubles, 6 triples, 1 HR, 20 runs scored, and 23 RBI. Plays a good SS when not pitching.

Dalton Sawyer, Waconia, Senior-6-1 record, 1.04 ERA, 77 K’s to 21 walks, best pitcher this area has seen in a while, Teams top hitter as well, Good Fastball and Breaking pitch, signed to play for the Gophers next season.

Coach of the Year-
Scott Renning, Hutchinson-Led Tiger turnaround to a 2nd place finish in the WCC, Team finished in 4th place in the section. Led team to 15 wins this season, after winning only 8 games the previous season.
