MINNESOTA WILD OWNS SEVEN PICKS IN 2012 NHL ENTRY DRAFT

TEAM TO HOLD DRAFT PARTY AT TOM REID’S HOCKEY CITY PUB ON FRIDAY NIGHT

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild currently owns seven picks in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, including the seventh overall selection. The draft will be held June 22-23 at CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh. The first round, held on Friday, June 22 starting at 6 p.m. CST, will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network. Rounds 2-7 will be held on Saturday, June 23 and will be broadcast live on NHL Network beginning at 9 a.m. CST.

The Wild will host a draft party from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, June 22 at Tom Reid’s Hockey City Pub in St. Paul. Wild radio host Kevin Falness and television analyst Mike Greenlay will emcee the event and interview team representatives from the draft, including Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher and Minnesota’s first round pick.

Round 1 – Seventh overall

Round 2 – 46th overall

Round 3 – 68th overall

Round 4 – 98th overall

Round 5 – 128th overall

Round 6 – 158th overall

Round 7 – 188th overall

The Wild acquired RW Devin Setoguchi, C Charlie Coyle and a 2011 first round pick (Zack Phillips) from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for D Brent Burns and its second round pick (37th overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft on June 24, 2011. Minnesota acquired a 2012 second round pick (46th overall) from the New Jersey Devils along with D Kurtis Foster, LW Stephane Veilleux, RW Nick Palmieri and a conditional third round pick in 2013 in exchange for D Marek Zidlicky on Feb. 24, 2012.
