Minnesota Wild Re-Signs Matt Kassian to Two-Year Contract 29 Jun 12

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has re-signed LW Matt Kassian to a two-year contract.

Kassian, 25 (10/28/86), skated 24 games with the Wild in 2011-12, scoring two goals and accruing 55 penalty minutes (PIM). Kassian scored both of his goals March 1 at Montreal. He made his NHL debut Nov. 5, 2010, against Calgary, and totaled 12 PIM in four games with Minnesota in 2010-11. The 6-foot-4, 232-pound native of Edmonton, Alberta, was Minnesota’s second-round pick (No. 57 overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
