Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they will reinstate right-handed pitcher Matt Capps from the 15-day disabled list prior to Friday night’s game vs. the Oakland Athletics.
Capps was placed on the disabled list on June 25 (retroactive to June 24) with right shoulder inflammation. He appeared in two games (1 start) on his rehab assignment with Single-A Ft. Myers, going 1-0, 0.00 (2.0 ip, 0 er) with one hit, one unearned run and one strikeout.
To make room for Capps on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned right-handed pitcher Kyle Waldrop to Triple-A Rochester. Waldrop, who was recalled on June 29, went 0-1, 4.50 (4.0 ip, 2 er) with seven hits, three walks and one strikeout in four appearances with the Twins.
