Twins Place Swarzak on DL; Will Select Perdomo 27 Jul 12

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed right-handed pitcher Anthony Swarzak on the 15-day disabled list with a mild right rotator cuff strain.

To replace Swarzak on the 25-man roster, the Twins will select the contract of right-handed pitcher Luis Perdomo from Triple-A Rochester. Perdomo, who will wear uniform number 67, has split time at Double-A New Britain and Rochester this season, appearing in a combined 37 games while posting a 2.14 ERA (59.0 ip, 14 er) with 61 strikeouts. Perdomo will be in uniform tomorrow night vs. the Cleveland Indians.

To make room for Perdomo on the 40-man roster the Twins will transfer Carl Pavano to the 60-day disabled list.
