Local Wright County officials will join Minnesota Commissioner of Health Dr. Ed Ehlinger in a game of horseshoes while discussing important local public health issues in St. Michael at the Beebe Lake Park Horseshoe pits today (Tuesday). Ehlinger is an avid fan of horseshoes, saying it’s a fun and easy way for people to be physically active. The commissioner is conducting “Pitch the Commissioner” events in several Minnesota communities to hear about local public health issues and concerns and to highlight local public health achievements from 10:15 to 11:30 this morning. This event will also include a visit with Live Wright partners.
Following the horseshoes, Ehlinger will take a tour of the Wright County Wellness on Wheels (WOW) van, meet with county human services supervisors, emergency preparedness and public health nuisance staff, and Safe Communities partners.
From 1:50 to 3 p.m. this afternoon, the commissioner will give a presentation, “What Does Minnesota Need to be Healthy?” at Buffalo Allina Hospita in Buffalo.
