There’s more heat on the way for the area, but it will cool down some over the weekend.

Tonight: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. North wind 5 to 7 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming north northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. Light and variable wind becoming east southeast around 6 mph in the evening.

Friday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. South southeast wind 5 to 9 mph.
