ST. PAUL, MN (August 12, 2012) – One catcher left to go finish school, so the St. Paul Saints signed a catcher that just finished school to replace him. With Benji Johnson heading back to school to get his degree the Saints turned to recent Augsburg College graduate Adam Seaman to fill the void.
The 22-year-old Seaman had a tremendous senior season leading the Auggie’s in hitting with a .396 average with 12 RBI in 20 games. In 53 at bats he scored 12 runs, had eight doubles, a .529 on base percentage and a .547 slugging percentage.
During his three year career at Augsburg, Seaman hit .349 with 11 homers and 60 RBI in 87 games. In 255 at bats he scored 54 runs, had 21 doubles, one triple, an on base percentage of .438 and a slugging percentage of .569. Seaman led the MIAC in homers in 2010 with eight.
In order to make room for Seaman on the roster the Saints placed pitcher Anthony Claggett on the disabled list retroactive to August 10.
The Saints roster stands at the league maximum 22, 10 pitchers and 12 position players with two players on the disabled list and two on the inactive list.
