Train Hits Pedestrian in Meeker County 13 Aug 12

Authorities say a 21-year-old pedestrian from Eden Valley, who was trying to cross train tracks in Meeker County, was hit and killed by a locomotive early Saturday morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol says Nicholas Phillipp was walking in Eden Valley on Saturday at about 3:30am. As he tried to cross on foot to the south side of the tracks, he was struck by a Canadian Pacific train. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
