  • ·    The Tigers have won 24 of their last 33 games against the Twins.
  • ·    Doug Fister is 6-1, 1.97 (59.1 ip, 13 er) in his last eight games and 3-0, 1.15 (31.1 ip, 4 er) in his last four.
  • ·    Fister has pitched 8.0-plus innings in four of his last six starts…he set a career-high with 120 pitches thrown.

TWINS NOTES: ­

  • ·    The Twins evened their record against the AL Central to 23-23…they dropped to 5-6 against the Tigers this season.
  • ·    Brian Duensing has allowed 29 hits in his last three games…his four strikeouts were his most since September 24, 2011 at Cleveland.
  • ·    Josh Willingham set a single-season career-high with his 30th home run in the fourth inning, passing his 2011 total of 29 with Oakland…he now has 18 career home runs in Target Field, passing Michael Cuddyer (17) for the second-most in the park’s history…Jim Thome has the most with 24.
  • ·    Willingham now has 88 rbi on the season…he entered play today third in all of baseball in rbi…tonight marked his ninth game with three-plus rbi.
  • ·    The 30 home runs by Willingham mark the 24th time a Twin has reached 30 homers in a season (ninth different Twin)…the last players to reach 30 were Cuddyer and Justin Morneau in 2009.
  • ·    The Willingham home run was the 127th hit in Target Field this season by both the Twins and their opponents, marking a new single-season high, passing the 2011 total of 126…there were 116 hit in Target Field in 2010.
  • ·    Ryan Doumit (1-for-4) has hit safely in 36 of his last 46 games, batting .337 (58-for-172) in that span…Doumit now has nine extra-base hits in 12 games this month…with a double tonight, he now has 150 in his career.
