Hutchinson police are investigation the theft of both gas and a pickup truck this past Saturday.
Police say an employee at the Sinclair Station on Highway 7 East in Hutchinson reported that a man filled a ’92 Ford F-150 with $126 worth of gas and then began to wander around the parking lot area for about 45 minutes. When the employee asked him what was going on, the man said he was waiting for his wife, who had his wallet. Shortly after that, the man took off and left the truck behind.
When police checked the truck, they discovered it was reported stolen from Winsted. There were also several bicycles in the back of the pickup that did not belong to the owner.
The investigation continues.
