Hutchinson Chamber Has New President 29 Sep 12

The search for a new Hutchinson Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism President is over.

The Chamber Search Committee announced Friday that Mary Hodson has accepted the position and will officially begin her new position in mid-October.

Bill Corby resigned as President of the organization in August to pursue other opportunities. Shortly thereafter, a search committee consisting of Board Members was formed to find the next leader. After publicly posting the position, the committee received several resumes from qualfied applicants. The Search Committee wrapped up the second round of interviews last week and extended an offer to what they felt was the most qualified candidate.

The committee stated in a press release that they feel Hodson’s experience in event planning and working in a non-profit organization makes her an excellent choice to lead the organization.

Most recently: Special Event Coordinator at Crow River Winery, Annual Giving Program Specialist at Hutchinson Health Care/ Foundation, and BMNH Volunteer Coordinator at Hutchinson Area Health Care. She also serves as a member of the Hutchinson Ambassadors and has served a member on the Hutchinson Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

She attended South East Iowa Community College.
