The new athletic director and dean of students for the Nicollet Public School faces 2 counts of felony theft for allegedly stealing school concession and ticket sales money on numerous occasions.
31-year-old Justin Berg of rural Le Sueur County was arrested after a Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office investigation into the funds being taken during or after Nicollet athletic events.
The school district reported the crimes Monday of last week, and Berg was taken into custody on Friday. He has since been released from jail pending his next court appearance.
He has been charged with theft and theft of public funds, and faces up to 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine on each charge.
