Eden Prairie, MN (October 24, 2012) – RB Adrian Peterson has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his Week 7 performance against the Arizona Cardinals. Peterson rushed for a season-high 153 yards on 23 carries with 1 TD. With his 29th 100+ yard performance, he ties Robert Smith for most career 100+ yard rushing performances in Vikings history. The 6th year back is currently tied for the 3rd most rushing yards (652) in the NFL, 7 yards behind the League leader. He leads the NFL in yards from scrimmage with 787.
This is Peterson’s 6th career NFC Offensive Player of the Week Award. He has now won the award in back-to-back contests against the Arizona Cardinals (10/9/11). Peterson received the award after rushing for 122 yards and 3 TDs, all TDs coming in the 1st quarter.
