KDUZ/KARP/KTWN Radio would like to congratulate the recipients of our 2012 All Area Football Team.  Players are nominated by their coaches, and then voted on by the sports broadcasters of our three stations.  Here is the 2012 team:


All Area Football-


John Kalthoff, Annandale, Senior-All Conference, WCC West QB of the Year, Captain, 58% completion, 1,861 yards, 11 TD’s, also rushed for 7 TD’s.  A 2 year starter, led team to 2 straight dome appearances, over 4,000 yards passing in his career.

McKinley Anderson, Hutchinson, Senior-53% Completion, 1,096 yards passing, 11 TD’s, also 655 yards rushing, 16 TD’s, good athletic QB that makes good decisions, very Improved over this season.



Erik Danielson, Sibley East, Junior-All Conference, 1,375 yards rushing, 12 TD, Co catpian, 2 year starter.

Tory Adams, Hutchinson, Junior-over 1,200 yards rushing, 17 TD, 7.6 yards per carry, nice power runner that has some breakaway speed, good at finding and creating holes.

Chaz Roush, BOLD, Senior-1,625 yards rushing, 13 TD, All Conference, Most Valuable RB in the West Central Conference, team leader in kickoff returns



Dalton Clouse, GSL, Junior-All Conference, 921 yards rushing, 6 TD, phenomenal fullback that led team in rushing, plus is a punishing blocker.  2 year starter.



Brett Ahsenmacher, Annandale, Senior-All Conference, WCC West WR of the Year, 37 catches for 685 yards, 3 TD, also 49 carries for 361 yards and 3 TD’s, has also passed for 3 TD’s and ran a punt back for a TD this year.  One of the most dynamic players in the area.

Mitchell Peterson, Hutchinson, Senior-24 catches, 656 yards, 5 TD’s, 27 yards per catch, also rushed for 396 yards and 4 TD’s.  Good speed and runs nice routes.



Tyler Bates, Sibley East, Senior-MN River Conference Offensive Player of the Year, 40 catches, 661 yards, 11 TD, Co captain, 3 year starter, NCAA D2 Recruit.



Cruz Johnson, Annandale, Senior-All conference, 2 year starter, Anchor of the Oline that has amassed over 4,300 yards this season.

Cordell Bates, Sibley East, Junior-MN River Conferece OL of the year, Blocked for an offense that amassed over 3,300 yards rushing and 35 TD’s.  2 year starter, can be a nasty player to go against.

Justin Gahnz, Dassel Cokato, Senior-All Conference, 2 year starter, one of the top lineman in the WCC.

Lucas Damm, ACGC, Senior-One of the top offensive lineman in the West Central, paved the way for the powerful run game of the Falcons, 2 way starter for 2 years.

Peyton Thiry, LP/HT, Senior-3 year all conference, teams MV-Lineman, Gopher Valley Conference Class A MVP, 2 time captain, 4 year starter, intelligent driven player (also played LB with 94 tackles and 1 INT)

Logan Sandgren, BOLD, Junior-2 year starter, All Conference, helped pave way for over 3,300 yards of rushing offense, one of the teams top assets (also a standout DT with 8 sacks)



Ray Eberhard, GSL, Senior-All Conference, WCC DL of the year, 47 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 Defensive TD’s

Luke Sandquist, WM, Junior-All Conference, 37 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 2 blocked punts, teams run away from his side.

Chris Schmidt, BLHS, Junior-All Conference, Teams Defensive MVP, 109 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 fumbles recovered, nose for the ball, undersized lineman but plays bigger.

Shaun Schindler, Hutchinson, Senior-Force at the defensive line, Captain, one of the leaders in tackles, has 7 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery.

Josiah Rolf, Hutchinson, Senior-A playmaker at the line, creates havoc, a number of tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, and one defensive TD

Austyn Schlueter, Kimball, Senior-3 year starter for the Cubs, 36 tackles, 3 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 2 blocked kicks, a real force for the Cubs.



Tyler Miller, HLWW, Senior: All conference, teams Defensive MVP, 104 tackles-average of 13 per game, heart and soul of the defense, smart player, good tackler

Alec Fornier, Annandale, Senior-All Conference, WCC West LB of the year, leads team with 109 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 INT, the leader of the Cardinal defense, makes all calls, one of the best defensive players ever in Annandale.

Ben White, Sibley East, Junior-All Conference, MVP of the defense, 156 tackles, 8 for loss, 7 sacks, 8 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery.  One of the top LB’s in the area, also a Co-Captain and a 4.0 student.

Jake Smith, Dassel Cokato, Senior-All Conference, 114 tackles, smart player, led team in tackles.

Jeremiah Grimsley, Mayer Lutheran, Senior-94 tackles, 1 sack, 2 INT, 2 fumble recoveries, team captain, 2 year starter.



Ethan Maass, GSL, Senior: 3 time all conference, WCC DB of the year, 108 tackles, 3 INT, 3 forced fumbles, 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery, over 300 tackles in career, one of the top DB’s ever at GSL.

Nick Tschida, WM, Senior: All Conference, Team Captain, 51 tackles, 2 INT, 1 fumble recovery for TD, 3 year starter at DB, integral part of the Royals turnaround

Taylor Larsen, ACGC, Senior-15 INT, very good in pass coverage and stopping the run.

Tanner Luebke, Mayer Lutheran, Senior-50 tackles, 6 INT, Captain, 2 year starter



Marcus Hahn, Hutchinson, Sophomore-58 of 65 extra points, broke school record for extra points in a season, very good leg with about 10 touchbacks on kickoffs.


Coach of the Year-

Andy Rostberg, Hutchinson-Led Tigers to undefeated season, #2 ranked team in the state, WCC East Champions, Section Champions, didn’t have a game closer than 21 points until state tournament.
