Two honors were celebrated at Dassel Elementary Tuesday.
Dassel Elementary was recognized as one of 219 public schools in the nation as a 2012 National Blue Ribbon School based on academic excellence. U. S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan notes, “Schools honored with the National Blue Ribbon Schools award are committed to accelerating student achievement and preparing students for success in college and careers. Their work reflects the conviction that every child has promise and that education is the surest pathway to a strong, secure future.”
Dassel Elementary School was named a 2012 Reward School. This designation is given to Title I schools in Minnesota that are performing in the top 15% based upon Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment results.
Officials say these honors are a true testament to the commitment and dedication given by our students, staff, parents, and the community that supports Dassel Elementary and the Dassel-Cokato School District to the achievement of excellence at Dassel Elementary.
