The newest Yellow Ribbon entities are scheduled to be recognized Friday at a Yellow Ribbon Proclamation Ceremony being held at the Evangelical Free Church in Willmar, Minn.
“The outward showing of support by these communities eases the burden for military families and the transition from warrior to citizen,” said Minnesota National Guard’s Director of Military Outreach, Annette B. Kuyper.
“Appleton, Morris and Sauk Centre have earned the designation as Yellow Ribbon Cities,” said Kuyper.
“Additionally, the counties of Lac qui Parle and Renville will be proclaimed Yellow Ribbon Counties.”
“Secretary of State Mark Ritchie and Minnesota National Guard’s Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. Richard C. Nash, will recognize the five new networks at the ceremony,” said Kuyper. “Additionally, seven Gold Star Families will attend the ceremony to be recognized as guests of honor.”
The Yellow Ribbon Proclamation event is scheduled for Dec. 7, 3-4 p.m., at 1305 19th Ave. SW, Willmar, Minn.
