Some Highways Open, Others Remain Closed 10 Dec 12

The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol have opened highways in west-central and southwestern Minnesota. Motorists should reference www.511mn.org or call 511, forthe most up to date road closure status.

Highways still closed include:

Highway 19 from Redwood Falls to Marshall

Highway 19 from Marshall to Redwood Falls

Highway 40 west of Madison

Highway 67 west of Granite Falls

Highway 68 from Highway 19 to Wabasso

Highway 212 from Olivia to Granite Falls

Current driving conditions are difficult due to stuck vehicles, heavy snow compaction and ice. Motorists should still use extreme caution when traveling.

MnDOT reminds motorists to be patient while snowplow operators work to improve driving conditions. The majority of snowplow crashes take place during “clean up” when motorists resume their normal speeds.
