Minnesota lawmakers are back at the State Capitol in St. Paul to begin the 2013 legislative session.
A major hurdle for lawmakers will be figuring out Minnesota’s budget and closing what is close to a billion dollar deficit. The budget may be easier to pass now with a Democrat controlled House and Senate, plus Governor Mark Dayton is also a Democrat.
Higher taxes are rumored, something Republicans will fight but do not have the votes to block.
This session marks the first in a long time that a stadium isn’t on the agenda.
The gavel drops at noon today (Monday).
