Bad Weather Causes Crashes 28 Jan 13

There were hundreds of crashes throughout the region on Sunday as freezing rain and sleet gave way to heavy snow in many areas.

Across the local area, 26-year-old Francis Ourado of Wabasso and his passenger, 18-year-old Bridgett Elsing of Wabasso suffered non life-threatening injuries when their vehicle slid into oncoming traffic on Highway 212 near Glencoe Sunday.

32-year-old Jodi Brandmire of Shakopee was injured when her vehicle rolled multiple times on an icy Highway 111 in Nicollet County.

43-year-old Alex Johnson of Nicollet suffered minor injuries when his vehicle ran off the road and into some trees on Highway 19 near Morton on Sunday.

52-year-old Steven Robbins of Mapleton was injured in a rollover on Highway 22 in Blue Earth County as well.

Road conditions remain poor across much of the area today (Monday), and another round of snow is expected tonight, tomorrow morning and again early Wednesday.
