A Winthrop man accused of stealing over $13,000 worth of corn from his employer has pleaded guilty to felony theft in Sibley County Court.
35-year-old Kyle Norman Grams admitted to selling the corn to United Grain Systems in Winthrop under his own name and keeping the money on two different occasions last year.
The first incident involved 919 bushels of corn that Grams sold for over $5,700. The second incident involved 957 bushels worth more than $7,500, but that money was withheld from him due to the suspicious nature of the transaction.
Grams has claimed that he was in financial need at the time.
He faces up to 10 years in prison. Sentencing has been set for February 7th.
