A man is dead after a workplace accident in Renville yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.
The Renville County Sheriff’s Department says the 60-year-old victim, who’s name hasn’t been released, was working outside the Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative plant when he was run over by a payloader.
KWLM reports it was windy at the time and visibility was poor due to blowing beet pulp.
The victim died at the scene.
The accident was reported at 2:50 p.m. at the plant, located 2 miles east of Renville.
The Sheriff’s Office and OSHA are conducting the investigation.
