President Pushes Anti-gun-violence 05 Feb 13

President Obama met with law enforcement officials and youth violence prevention advocates in north Minneapolis Monday afternoon as he continues his anti-gun-violence campaign.

MNN reports the president asked Americans to keep pressure on Congress for universal background checks and restoring the ban on military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. “We’re not gonna wait until the next Newtown or the next Aurora,” said the president, “Not gonna wait until somebody else’s father or son are murdered.”

Sami Rahamim, son of slain Accentage Signage owner Reuven Rahamim, was among who met with Obama for a roundtable discussion on gun violence. Also present was John Souter, the lone survivor of last September’s workplace mass shooting.
